Hi all , can anybody tell me what is the correct fuse for S series brake lights & where I can get them ? the only 14 amp ones I can find are too fat , too short or too long ( why did they put caps at the end of the retaining clamps ?????? really restricts the length of fuse ) thank you .

Hey mate, sorry for the no reply, theres an old dude in our club with a S series factory shop manual, I'll see if I can chase him up and get to find out, if you haven't already found the info somewhere.

He said its a 15amp fuse, does a bunch of other stuff besides brake lights, he said there was another fuse-7amp that does reversing lights a a couple of other things. The wiring in his S series has been upgraded so he couldn't use that to double check.
Are the normal glass fuses from S'cheap not the right length?

Thanks for the info ... I couldn't find a 15 amp fuse that was the right length , thickness , closest was a 14amp2ag whereas I needed a 25mm ideally , have soldered a 20mm to the blown 25mm to enable the connection to be continued . When that fails I don't know what will be the next option ! Geez , never a dull moment with the old girl eh !!!!! thanks to you both for your efforts .

Mate just replace the fuse box with a new one so fuses are easier to get, or just bypass that fuse altogether and put an inline fuse holder in.

Yes I had thought of an inline fuse / holder as a short term replacement with a view to replacing the fuse box altogether . Just wanted to get the brake lights operational so I can use the car until I can get around to doing a more permanent fix. Thanks for your suggestion .
