My original Bosch 40Amp unit has decided it can only throw out 12V when it was originally designed to produce 14V. Before it stopped working I noticed that nothing was wrong even with headlights/brake lights/cd player/etc operating all at once. What is a good replacement for a standard alternator on a hemi 6?

I use this one on my VH Wagon, I found if I was driving it at night with electric fan and fuel pump it was struggling to restart if you switched it off. With the 85amp its much better.

Awesome product, if I had read your reply before I found something locally I'd be chasing one of your units. Hopefully this thread will help others find something needed to get them going. Best of luck with the site too.

I use a stock 40amp alt with the guts from a VN commodore 80amp alt fitted. Any auto electristion can do the 40 to 80 amp mod. Or just grab a alt from mike, as I know he sells good parts at a good price.
