As the title states , can I use a 6AL with a stock V8 Distributor. We are doing the engine swap in Aarons VC and I have a stock dizzy I ran on my 318. Can we hook this up to his existing 6AL till he get the money to get an MSD ?

Cheers

Yes shouldn't be a drama. Shows it in the MSD instuctions. Assuming electronic.

MSD green -> dizzy black
MSD violet -> dizzy orange

Shaun, don't mean to hijack the thread!

Adam - is your Arrow and Signet still for sale? If so, same prices?

Just getting the magazine ads finalised.

It will work. The only issue you may have is the engine may get to a certain rpm point where it won't want to rev any further. Sometimes the signal from the factory dizzy gets 'noisy' at higher rpm and the MSD can't read it. Wiring in a capacitor will help.
For example, Greg's cuda got to 4700 and wouldn't rev any harder.

Definitely try it first. The stock dizzy has the advantage of vacuum advance although you'll benefit from getting it regraphed to get the timing in earlier.
