Hi Guys, I am new to the forum & needing some help.
My father has owned a VJ E55 since 1973 & we have an ignition issue.
The car has no ignition lights & the fuel gauge does not work until you go to start the car & then they all work, problem is the car fires up & does not run.
I have had the ignition switch serviced & also replaced the ballast resister without any luck.
Hope someone can give me some info to fix it.
Thank you in advance as any help is better than where I am at the moment

HI THERE,
Just to be certain.
So does the engine "RUN" if you "CONTINUE TO HOLD the key in the START Position".
And then STOP when you release the key and allow it to spring-back to the RUN position.?

BTW,
If you have a "UP-TO AUGUST 1973" CAR then it should have a RED in-line bullet type fuse which is also for the ignition , it should be adjacent to the fuse-box beside the Column.
