i thought the ute held up well until i put it on the trailer and saw the lowering blocks and spring saddles, turns out the u bolts and nuts supplied with the blocks wernt upto the job, one nut missing and another stripped when i got home. lowering blocks mushroomed at the back and diff saddles bent like a bananna. so diff is out and goin to aussie diffs for new val saddles. lowering blocks are goin. also while i was under i found a now stuffed tailshaft, check out what happened to my recently modified tailshaft

welcome to the world of leaf springs and a manual,,, i suggest you make your self some some caltracs or track bars before you go racing next or it will just happen again, and maybe double check your pinion angle, just my 2c and well done on the times you pulled

i do run tramp bars, which probably helped. the pinion angle is fine. the pics where taken with diff hanging on the springs, and car on stands, so its nosed up, on the ground its a little under flat. the ute being low and diff moving is what stuffed the shaft, i have a replacement here. and the diff is getting new saddles, so not a big drama, but ill make sure it wont happen again. live and learn ay.

thanks i was pretty happy with times aswel. was happy i didnt break anything at the track, i did drive it like i stole it.

The ute copped a massive flogging. Yeh ben pipes were dropped and ute was towed there and back. Diff is at aussie diffs getting new saddles with gussets fitted so it won't happen again.

No internal components broke anywhere so its all good, that kind of stuff is peripheral shit that you need to be checking after every big race meeting anyway. Even tho most of our cars are streeters after a caning like that it always pays to go through checking stuff, manifold and exhaust nuts, engine mounts, rear spring bushes, uni bolts etc etc as part of your normal routine, and yeah, your ute was strong all weekend and had heaps of runs so if thats all you have to fix at the end of it you're laughing.
